During your time with Gungirl Sequencer, I'm sure you've seen that samples are aligned to certain positions within the timeline, to match the positions of the numbers on the ruler. This behavior is customizable too, just select the highlighted button in the Toolbar and adjust the value in the following dialog to fit your needs. |
"And how the hell do I find out the appropriate Value for this Snap Stuff?" might've been your first question when reading through the previous paragraph. No Problem, just click on the tiny button on the right of the filelist to show a little window that will display some additional information for the file that's being played in the Miniplayer. If you look at the "Frames" Number, you possible want to use this value as your custom Snap Value. |
You can also adjust fade-in and fade-out of each sample, just click the small Button in the lower right of every sample to pop up the contextmenu and select „Envelope“. You can then manipulate the four envelopepoints, as seen in the second Image. |
You can also trim a sample, and adjust it's speed, just use the contextmenu that pops up if you click on the small button marked in the screenshot, and Select „Edit Sample...“. You'll get the dialog as shown in the lower image, where you can set the trim-points, and adjust the timestretch using the dial-control. |
If you want to loop on a specific part of your piece, you can point the mouse to the ruler on the top of the timeline and drag it over the part you want to loop. Now you just have to press the play button and the looping will start. |
Sometimes while editing, you do something that you didn't wanted to do. For this there are the undo and redo buttons, as highlighted on the picture. You can undo and redo editing actions as often as you want to. |
If you want to share an unfinished piece with a friend, so that he can work on it. If you send him a normal ggseq project, he cannot do anything with it, because all the soundfiles would have to be send seperatly. Therefore the „Export Package...“ action is in the main menu. you just save the package, and all Soundfiles that were used are automatically included. |
If you want to open such a package file, as described in the last paragraph, you select „Import Package..“ from the main menu, locate the package in the upcoming dialog and select a place to store the contents, that means the soundfiles and the project file. |
